Remote Visual Surveillance Company Prevents Crimes at Growing Number of New England Dealerships

On Tuesday, we were delighted to announce members of the Bernardi Auto Group as our newest U.S. customers. The group of car dealerships, which includes Bernardi Hyundai of Brockton, Bernardi Honda of Brockton and Natick, and Bernardi Acura of Brighton, elected Netwatch’s managed services after reviewing several different security solutions including traditional CCTV and security guards. After launching our U.S. headquarters earlier this year, we have quickly established ourselves as a leader in automotive dealership security in New England.

Bernardi Auto Group, one of New England’s most well-known dealerships, first used traditional CCTV cameras and manned guards during the construction phases of two dealerships in Brockton, Bernardi Hyundai and Bernardi Honda. With Honda models taking the top two spots in the 2011 ten Most Stolen Vehicles Report by the National Insurance Crime Bureau, it was a priority that they were protected by most efficient technology on the market. After reviewing their current traditional systems, Bernardi chose Netwatch for its innovative proactive protection capabilities. After a successful experience, Bernardi has now expanded their use of Netwatch to their Acura location in Boston and is in negotiations to implement the system at the rest of their dealerships.

Since its original implementation at the two Bernardi locations in January 2012, we have already prevented five security breaches. Our advanced security system proactively monitors properties, using the most advanced video processing technologies to alert its Communication Hub to unacceptable behavior on a clients’ property. Intervention Specialists then use live, verbal warnings to intervene as soon as security is breached by alerting the intruders they are being watched and the police have been informed.

“Automotive security breaches continue to be a problem in a recovering economy,” said David Walsh, Netwatch CEO. “Thieves are interested in sellable items such as scrap metal, copper, airbags, and catalytic converters – all of which can be found on dealership lots. Bernardi has already identified intruders by using our system and we’re honored to be helping the company protect its assets.”
