West Cork Distillers is an Irish manufacturer of whiskey, and other spirits founded and run by childhood friends John O’Connell, Ger McCarthy, and Denis McCarthy. The team began their ascent to the top of the distillery industry in a modest room at the back of Denis’ house in Union Hall in 2003. Their passion for crafting fine spirits led them to upgrade to a new distillery in Skibbereen in 2014, marking a significant milestone in their growth. Today, situated on a sprawling 12.5-acre site on Marsh Road, West Cork Distillers boasts a distillation capacity of four million liters of alcohol annually.
With their award-winning West Cork Irish Whiskey now enjoyed in nearly 70 countries, the company has experienced substantial growth in both production and distribution. This expansion has seen annual case sales rise consistently over the past six years, accompanied by an increase in their workforce to more than 80 employees, primarily sourced from the local community in West Cork.
